I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom. Over those six days, thousands of friends, family, and fans made their hearts known to me. I am grateful for their love, as I am for the support of my Dad, Coley, and my stepmom Alexi who continue to be my rock during this time. Rest in peace Mom, I love you.”
What Exactly Happened on the Day of Accident?
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that a blue Mini Cooper collided with a house on the 1700 block of Walgrove in Los Angeles around 11 a.m. PT on August 5 at the speed of 160 km/ hr. The vehicle went 30 feet into the two-story home, which was announced unsafe to enter after fire extinguishment.
An eyewitness reported the incident and explained the initial moments after the crash. The caller told the 911 responder, “[Someone is] trapped in the front door [of the car]. Inside the car. Whoever was driving. Get somebody real quick.”
During the call, the 911 operator could hear someone in the background shouting about a fire. The paramedics and ambulance reached the crash site almost six minutes after the call.
The intensity of the fire can be understood by the fact that it took 59 firefighters over an hour to control the fire.
